Arrival at Honolulu
God willing I will now arrive at Honolulu on Thursday 17th July 2025 at 19:44 on the United Airlines UA 1170 from Los Angeles, after a one-night stopover (Wednesday 16th July) in LA (not now routing via Denver).
Sailor's Society Letter of Introduction to the Majuro Harbormaster
This is to update you with the good news that the Sailor's Society CEO Sara Baade has appointed me Sailor's Society Honorary Chaplain for the care of International Fishers and Purse Seine Carrier Ship Seafarers at Majuro's Uliga Dock and the Pacific International Inc Wharf. Also that the Sailor's Society Strategy Coordinator Barbara Kidd (my line manager), has kindly written a letter of introduction to Majuro's Harbormaster, and sent it to me by email & hard copy. Barbara's letter to the Harbormaster also mentions my Sailor's Society appointment as Sailor's Society Honorary Chaplain (Honorary is unpaid service - volunteer) - see the "Majuro Introduction Letter - C Evans" PDF attached). God willing, I will bring it with me for when I enter Majuro Marshall Islands, and for when I visit the Majuro Harbormaster, and hand it to him, with my local partners Pastor Steve Clark, and his bilingual Marshallese Pastors Kalo and Kamo, of Majuro International English Church (MIEC).
Hosting and time on Oahu
Dr Craig and Mrs Claire Loo Nakatsuka have kindly offered to host me. I will now be on Oahu for six nights Thursday 17th to Wednesday 23rd July (rather than five nights). I was very pleased and thankful to accept their kind offer to host me. Claire has also kindly offered to give me a lift to churches on Sunday - Lord willing to the Waikiki Baptist Church first service at 09:00, and to Claire's church Nu'uanu Baptist Church at 10:30. And Dr Craig has also kindly offered to take me to the Hawaii Seafarers Ministry Dinner Fellowship and associated Seafarers Medical Mission, at Pier 36 on Friday, and at Pier 17 on Tuesday, all of which will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect.
I plan, Lord willing, to visit with with Pastor Bong and Charlene & John Vaughn for an OBN office meeting, followed by a breakfast or brunch prayer meeting, on Friday morning.
Then on Monday morning I plan to visit with Dr Craig Webb and Dr Robert Miller at the HPBC Office on Monday morning Lord willing, if they are free.
And also Lord willing, to visit with brother Clyde Kakiuchi on Monday afternoon, as arranged with Clyde, God willing, and have lunch with him at the Fish and Chips restaurant at the Domestic Commercial Fishing Village followed by a drive with Clyde to visit Kaneohe, and to visit Lord willing with Pastor Andrew Large if they are on island.
The amount currently needed for the mission trip
The amount needed for the mission trip at the outset of fundraising was GB £13,200. The amount I now need for the mission trip is GB £7,500 (as of 29th April 2025), or US $10,000.
The Lord God has to date reduced the amount needed for the mission trip by GB £5,700, or US $7,650.
I would like to apply for any possible help through an OBN mission grant, towards planting the Majuro Fishers and Seafarers Mission, as these local persons of peace are already committed to partner with me in this endeavor by God's going before - Senior Pastor Steve Clark, Pastors Kalo and Kamo, and their full gospel church fellowship Majuro International English Church, MIEC.
Every strength and blessing
Chris
