Aloha Pastor Bong.

I hope you are well. Judy and I wish you every strength and blessing to you and yours, and for your ministry as Pastor of Mililani Filipino Baptist Church and as Oahu Baptist Network Moderator.

I have attached three PDF files: my covering letter to you Pastor Bong (a PDF, which includes my prayer requests); my updated mission proposal (a PDF of 13th Aug 2024); and a PDF my MA in Applied Theology (Chaplaincy focus) Dissertation (Moorlands College / University of Gloucestershire June 2020) entitled, Missionary Teamwork Making Disciples of Fishermen in Oceania.

I wanted to let you know of the vision and mission outline that stemmed from my MA dissertation study, and to request prayer on my specific prayer points. Also, to ask if it would be possible for you to inform OBN churches of the vision, mission outline and prayer points, if appropriate, and of the possible opportunity in 2025 to partner with me at Majuro and/or Pohnpei to plant a missional community, in missionary teamwork with God-gathered local stakeholders.

Senior Pastor Andrew Large and Chairman Gary Miller of the Waikiki Baptist Church Stewardship Team kindly sent me a donation of two thousand dollars towards the unfolding of this vision and mission outline in May this year. Please see my updated mission proposal attached Appendices 1 and 2, for full details of the logistical needs and costings of my proposed three-month mission tour.

I will look forward to hearing from you. Mahalo in anticipation.

Best Regards and Aloha
Chris

 10th January 2025.

To: Pastor Bong Abagon
Moderator, Oahu Baptist Network
Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.

Dear Pastor Bong,

Aloha, I hope you had a Merry Christmas, and I wish you here a Happy New Year and Every strength and blessing for 2025.

I am writing to let you know that I have completed a note on partnerships for the envisioned mission tour of Micronesia, and that I have attached the notes. A prospective partnership in Majuro (church and Pastor) and also in Pohnpei (church and Pastor) will be vital in regard to planting a missional community in the vicinity of the Uliga Port at Majuro and the vicinity of the Kolonia Port at Pohnpei, and the continuation of these missional communities after I have left. Local partnership is also very important in regard to requesting and securing port access (as was the case at Honolulu Harbour).

And I pray here that this email to you Pastor Bong, copied to you all, will facilitate raising awareness in the churches of the OBN of the envisioned mission tour, Lord willing. I have attached a copy of my note on mission partnership and prospective partnerships (in PDF), and also a copy in PDF of my mission update of November 2024 (which I last sent you). Also attached is my MA in Applied Theology Dissertation “Missionary Teamwork Making Disciples of Fishermen in Oceania" 2020 (PDF).

In my MA Dissertation 2020, I reflected in an applied theological way, on my Port Chaplaincy and Port Mission practice on Tutuila, American Samoa at Pago Pago Harbour (Feb 2005 to Dec 2006), and on Oahu at Honolulu Harbour (Sept 2014 to Dec 2016); after which in the study I looked into the situation of international fishermen at Majuro and Pohnpei.

I am working towards a mission start date of Friday 30th May 2025, rather than Thursday 23rd January 2025 or 12th June 2025, Lord willing. I will stay one night in Los Angeles, Lord willing, rather than two. So the duration of the tour will be reduced by one night, from 92 to 91 nights, Lord willing.

Once the Lord has gathered local partners (a church and their Pastor) at Majuro and Pohnpei, I plan to post a fundraiser for the envisioned mission tour on the Facebook social media, with kind help from my son Matthew for the image(s) of the fundraiser post, who is very skilled in design and creation of posters and flyers and fundraiser posts. Matt served three years or so as a Volunteer Teacher at the Samoa Baptist Academy from Feb 2005.

With prayers to our Lord, I will look forward to hearing from you.

Aloha and kindest regards

Chris
