Keep upbeat to engage the group early.

How it Works

Hand each person a slip with a Christmas/Nativity word (Angel, Shepherd, Star, Joseph, Mary, Stable, etc.).
They must find their matching partner by describing it without saying the word.
Once matched, each pair answers one quick question:
“What is one way God blessed you or your church this year?”

Invite 3 designated sharers.
Suggested prompts:

End the section with a short prayer of thanks.

Prompt:
“What do you want to see our OBN churches be ministered through the O‘ahu Baptist Network in 2026?”

How to Facilitate (12 minutes):

Everyone stays seated at their table groups.
Each table spends 5 minutes sharing personal hopes & pastoral needs.
Each table writes down ONE dream + ONE practical need they want OBN to focus on in 2026.
One representative from each table shares (1 min each).
Host briefly acknowledges common themes (unity, training, outreach, support, etc.).

This gathers valuable insight while keeping the flow tight.

Theme: “Emmanuel: God With Us into the Future”

Suggested 8–10 minute outline:

God stepped into human reality at Christmas—into ordinary places, into need.
God continues to be present with our churches, pastors, families, and ministries.
Emmanuel means our mission is never carried alone.
As we look toward 2026, we move with confidence because God is with us and ahead of us.
Short closing prayer for unity and renewed mission in OBN.

Song Suggestion: Silent Night or O Holy Night (shortened version).
Invite everyone to transition to the dinner area afterward.

Serve dinner immediately at 7:00.
Light Christmas music playing.
Optional table prompts for discussion:
- “What’s one hope you have for your church in 2025–26?”
- “Share a favorite Christmas memory.”
- “How can we pray for your ministry?”
